    connecting to site problem

I have a client who all of a sudden is having trouble connecting to his site. All was fine until this afternoon. I am guessing it might be a router issue.

They can access the site using the ip, but cannot view any of the site using the domain name. They also cannot view ant other sites using my my name servers. They can view the rest of the web just not ones using my name server.

This is an issue on more than one PC at their house, but no one else is having this problem. SO it is not a PC or browser issue. Could this be a router issue?

It could be their ISP with their own cache of nameservers (although that is unlikely if they could reach the sites yesterday). They might send a email to their ISP to see if they can refresh their nameservers. Maybe someone with more knowledge of this can chime in ... I did have one customer with this problem, and it was some kind of speed enhancement on the ISPs end where they were locally caching nameserver info, but not refreshing it frequently enough.

If they are just trying to access the web pages, I don't see how a router would stop them. Its usually things like the ports that Cpanel or the webmail uses that get blocked.

You can have them set up a couple of free monitors at http://www.siteuptime.com so they can see that the site is available from New York and London, and then they know it is on their end.
