I have successfully changed the dns settings from my old host to my dathorn account for the webname.net but the www.webname.net is still pointed at the old servers. Shouldn't they both automatically go to the new server address? How do I set www. to go to the new server instaed of the old?

It sounds like your ISP maybe caching DNS queries. In which case, you can use your host file on your computer to work around this problem.

You would have to do some poking around with NSLookup to find out if indeed your ISP is caching DNS. Verizon does and most hosting companys have rather long TTL's ( Time To Live ).
