If you are running Mambo better get the patch, at least it is an easy one to install!

I'll just bump this because I think there's another new patch to cover this:

Mambo 4.5.1b
The current version of Mambo on cPanel is 4.5.1b. Am I understanding it correctly, in thinking that that patch is already installed on this version, and everything is good to go? That's what it looks like to me from this page: http://mamboforge.net/frs/?group_id=5 but I'm very green with this stuff.

4.5.1b is a lessor version than 4.5.2. However, I can see your confusion the way they have them list on the site is deceptive. Notice the dates on the versions though? The latest is 4.5.2 on Feb 16, 2005."Whatcha mean I shouldn't be rude to my clients?! If you want polite then there will be a substantial fee increase." - BuddhaComment

I'm still confused. Two different security bugs?
In looking at this page, http://mamboforge.net/frs/?group_id=5 it looks to me like 4.5.1 was rereleased Feb 1 with the patch as 4.5.1b when the security fix came out that day (note the times). Meaning that 4.5.1b should have covered the original security bug.
But this link: http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/12608 is a later report (Feb 21). But in checking back and forth, it looks like the same issue addressed with the Feb 1 patch, just a bit late in reporting. I'm really only test-driving; I don't want to install a whole new version if I don't have to.
Sorry, I'm a complete rookie with these PHP scripts. I've never upgraded before.Last edited by timg; 04-09-2005, 12:10 AM.~ Tim Gallant ~ http://www.pactumweb.comComment
