    Questions

    Gentlemen,

    1) My current hosting service does not allow email users to change passwords from webmail. Does your service provide such a feature?

    2) Would it be possible to have a cgi script ( independent of webmail or smtp server ) query a username and password to see if they match the email username and password? The ideas is to have each user only have one username and password for website/email login.

    3) Is there a source for learning about cpanel on this site?

    Thanks,

    Asier

    1. No.

    2. Obviously you can always custom code something to actualyl connect to the mail server and check to see if the login credentials return valid or not. Beyond that there is no pre-built easy way to do so.

    3. There's a lot of information in our FAQs. Other than that you may want to look at www.cpanel.net

Regarding #1, I logged into cPanel webmail (http://domain.com/webmail) and
it gives me a "Change Password" option on the main page where I select one
of the three cPanel default email packages (Horde, Squirrel, and Neomail).

Am I misreading his question about changing
the password for your email via webmail?

Can you confirm that it is working? I honestly don't keep up with that and rarely login to Webmail so I very well could have been wrong on that.

If its about changing passwords, yes you can change the password through Cpanel. No problems in that.

No I cannot confirm it; few months ago I moved to Thunderbird to take adventage of SpamPal.

I just attempted to use it, and you can indeed change your e-mail password via the standard webmail interface.

I know this is an old post, but I'm looking precisely into the issue of changing email passwords. Is the above only for changing the password *for webmail*, or will it change the password for the email account, period? The latter is what I'm looking for.

                Thanks!

Well, now that I look, I'm not seeing that "Change Password" option anywhere.

Just thought I'd post a followup note here. Yes, this can be done from http://www.yourdomain . com/webmail .

My mistake that I was signing in with my cPanel signin info, rather than the individual email address.
