    Problems sending email

    This started happening about 2 weeks ago. I haven't bothered with it since I don't send much outgoing mail from my domain, it's the incoming mail I worry about.

    Whenever I try sending mail I get the following message through outlook exp.

    Alert
    You have received an invalid certificate. Please contact the server administrator or email correspondent and give them the following information:

    Your certificate contains the same serial number as another certificate issues by the certificate authority. Please get a new certificate containing a unique serial number.

    Anyone have any idea what causes this?

    mail server is setup as mail.mydomain.com port 110
    password hasn't changed or anything...

        is it possible your ISP no longer lets you use SMTP servers other than theirs?

        I know mine (cox) doesn't.

          Good question, I just sent an email from paypal@mydomain.org to admin@mydomain.org It works fine.

          Sending anything out from 'admin' gives me an error though. No settings have changed.. it's really weird.

            Can you try an email client besides OE (horrible client IMHO) to see if the results are the same?

              Try setting up the incoming server to just yourdomain.com without the mail. root..

              i.e;

              "incoming mail server: mydomain.com"

                      I know this is an old thread, but I am having the exact same issue, nothing has changed and all was working fine previous. Any ideas on what to check?

                      I am using Mozilla Thunderbird.

                      [EDIT] Update, I figured it out - had to delete the certificates in Thunderbird.
