I have used civicspace, drupal, xoops, wordpress, IntegraMOD, MXSystems. All of them have + and -. Right now I am developing wordpress with tight integration with gallery2. It looks very promising. I also like xoops. Civicspace is also good but for specific uses.

Have you checked out http://www.opensourcecms.com/ You can demo quite a few CMS software packages.

        WP

I'd have to say that WordPress has won me over, especially with the new 2.0 release.

Are you using - coppermine or gallery2?
If not, which graphics plug-in for Wordpress?
          Is it working well?

          Thanks,

            Hi Fran,

I actually have only used WP for CMS/brochure sites, and not yet for picture galleries. In my non-WP sites I use SimpleViewer for my galleries.

Thanks for the reply. I've been trying to work with Wordpress and WPG2, but things are not straight forward.

                Fran,
I've been using ZenPhoto (http://www.zenphoto.org/) alongside a WP install for a while now. I played with many types of integrated galleries (through plugins) before I decided on this setup. All I did was customize the layouts of both to be the same. There really isn't any integration to speak of, but to the end-user the transfer between WP and ZenPhoto is transparent.

Also, I stumbled upon this plugin the other day: http://simbul.bzaar.net/zenpress/. It creates a link between the two apps so you can include photos from ZenPhoto in your WP postings. I haven't used it, but it may be useful to you.

As far as ZenPhoto vs Coppermine, I'd definitely recommend ZenPhoto. I haven't used a recent version of Coppermine, but I had used it in the past and ZenPhoto is WAY easier to set up and use than the last Coppermine install I had going.
