    2/1/06 - cpanel10 upgrade status

Previously I mentioned that all customer/WHM usernames that contained dashes would change, this is no longer the case. All usernames will remain as they are currently.

However, this presents some complications with WHM. Sometime after 6PM CST we will begin transfering the actual dis#### reseller accounts, when each one is done you will no longer be able to access WHM on cpanel10. We have to do this so that we can get them properly transfered to the new server with the appropriate permissions. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

The actual domain accounts will begin transfering around 11PM CST. During this upgrade process, all updates will be posted in this thread.

All non dis-#### account usernames that have a dash in them are being renamed minus the dash. These accounts were created before cPanel disallowed the ability to create usernames with a dash in them due to many problems that can occur. These changes are being made in order to make these accounts compatible with the transfer.

WHM accounts are now disabled on cpanel10 and are transfering to cpanel38.

All cpanel10 customers should now be able to login to WHM on cpanel38 with the same login information as they used for cpanel10. Please do not do anything with this yet, however, as the domain accounts have not been transfered yet.

Also, if you login to the customer control panel and view your welcome e-mail, it should now list cpanel38 as your server.

Domain accounts that have disk usage > 300MBs are now being manually transfered from cpanel10 to cpanel38, this is only 11 accounts.

Update @ 10:49PM: These larger accounts are still transfering as they account for the vast majority of the disk space that has to be transfered. The remaining domain accounts will begin transfering tomorrow morning and should be complete by early evening.

The remaining domain accounts are now being transfered. Once again, we hope to have these done by early this evening but only time will tell...

In addition to domain account usernames that contain dashes, usernames with underscores in them have also been removed, this only affected one account, however.

The account transfers were a bit slow this morning and so far we're about 20% complete.

This is taking a bit longer than expected due to issues we're experiencing with WHM And the transfer process. Currently we're a bit over half way finished. I'll continue to update this thread with the progress throughout the evening.

The process is about 80% complete at this point. The remaining accounts will be transfered overnight and then the DNS servers will be changed to the new IPs in the morning once all of the accounts have been transfered.

All accounts have now been transfered. You should now change your DNS/nameservers to the new cpanel38 nameservers if necessary.

All domains that had a dedicated IP on cpanel10 have now been assigned a new dedicated IP on cpanel38.

A cpanel38 uptime like has been added to our uptime reports forum.

HTTP on cpanel10 will be taken offline later today. Everyone should already have their DNS changed and their sites loading from cpanel38. Taking HTTP offline on cpanel10 will serve as a very obvious warning for anyone that may be left behind, before the entire server is taken offline.

cpanel10 will be taken offline entirely on Wednesday 2/8/06.
