    Webmail client suggestions?

    Hello all!
One of my customers needs to read email from a location where the firewall blocks all ports but 80. I've thought of installing a webmail client in a password-protected folder under public_html. The thing has only to support a single user/mailbox.
What is the simplest (easiest to set up) webmail client out there that should work on Dathorn (open source preferred)?
    Tia.

I had been looking at this, and then got side tracked. IIRC Squirrelmail looked the easiest... but I haven't tried an install...

Thank you. I ended up with Squirrelmail (with register_globals off) and it seems to be doing the job just fine.

from what i've seen roundcube is amazing, was there much trouble setting it up on dathorn hosting accounts?

Whilst i didn't set this up on Dathorn account, i've set it up on an identical cPanel/WHM system.
There's a couple of guides to installing RoundCube:

I recently heard about a new webmail client from my friend Justin, who's infatuated with it. RoundCube, a &quot;browser-based multilingual IMAP client with an app...

              It's pretty easy really

RB looks intriguing. Just waiting for some features to roll out, i.e. Message Filters and Rules. But to those that are using it, how is it regarding SPAM?

                  TIA

If you mean RoundCube, it doesn't have any inbuilt spam detection/removal tools.
I use MailScanner which tags everything that's spam for me.

Seems to be a couple of things going on.

                        1) I get problems with this part in roundcubemail/.htaccess:

                        Code:
                        AddDefaultCharset utf-8
                        php_flag engine off
                        php_value upload_max_filesize 2M

                        2) So I commented those lines of code above, and I can get into the login screen. I tried "username" as well as "username@domain.com" no go. This is what it said in the error logs...

                        Code:
[27-Apr-2006 19:52:36 -0500] IMAP Error: Authentication failed (LOGIN):<br>"a001 NO LOGIN failed" in on line 0
                        Anyone else? TIA

                        ---
Update: comment out these in .htaccess (like so)...

                        Code:
                        #php_flag engine off
                        #php_value upload_max_filesize 2M
Things sould work thereafter. Its only for servers running mod_php.

                        HTH

Does roundcube support multiple identities like Horde?

I think so. Their site lists the current features.

                              Thanks
