setting A record of subdomain to a different IP address

(I looked through the archives but I am still unclear.)

I host multiple domains on Dathorn, let's call them
example1.com
example2.com

I want

https://www.example1.com

https://www.example2.com

to point to Dathorn. No problem, we get that for free.

But I want
other.example1.com
to point to a different IP address, outside of Dathorn.

If I had control over the DNS entries, I would simply add an entry
other IN A 12.34.56.78
to the zone file for example1.com.

I cannot find a way to do this in WHM. I see an "Edit Zone Template" link, but not an "Edit Zone". Is it possible to do what I want?
