    cpanel56 Downtime

cpanel56 is currently offline due to a hard drive failure. We're currently working on this as quickly as we can. I do want to stress that this will not be a quick and easy fix and there might be data loss as well. I will post more details here as our work continues.

We're still working with the existing drives to try and get data off of them. Hopefully I'll have some real information to post within the next couple of hours.

Good news: we're currently transfer data off of the old drives and so far this is going fairly smoothly. We've already copied all of the databases off of the drives and we're now working on all of the home directories. This will take a while to transfer given the large amount of data and the current state of the hard drives.

The data transfers are still moving along nicely. We have approximately 25% of the home directories transfered at this point.

The data transfer from the old drives should be complete within the next two hours.

The data has been transfered off of the old drives and now we will be replacing the drives, re-installing the OS, and setting up the server. This will take a few hours to fully complete. Once this is complete we can begin restoring data.

I apologize, this is taking longer than expected. We're trying to get the server online as soon as possible.

The RHE & cPanel install is still running. Once it is complete it will take us 60-90 minutes to get the server ready to go and then we'll begin restoring data.

The server is now fully setup.

We're in the process of restoring the reseller (WHM) accounts along with all accounts for those that pay for our backup service. After this is complete, we have full backups from just before the server went offline for approximately 30% of the server's domains that are a result of our beta backup system that we have been working on so we'll be going ahead and restoring these completely. Once these steps have been completed we will open up access to cpanel56.

Lastly, we'll be attempting to recreate any remaining accounts and will copy over their databases, mail, tmp, public_html, and e-mail aliases. For these domains, since they do not have a full cPanel backups available and since they did not pay for our backup service, you will have to actually recreate subdomains, addon domains, parked domains, e-mail addresses, etc. directly via cPanel. Note that the e-mail will be restoreable however, you'll just have to recreate the accounts in order to access it.

I'll continue to update this thread as this progresses.

There are just a few remaining full backups to be restored and then we will be brining the server online. Afterwards we'll continue restoring the accounts that were not covered by our backup service.

The server has now been placed online. Everyone should be able to login to their WHM at the very least and under "List Accounts" you can see the accounts that have been restored at this point. We're continuing to restore the remaining accounts as quickly as possible.

We're still in the process of restoring the remaining accounts.

All accounts have been restored and dedicated IP addresses have been re-assigned to the domains that had them previously.

You will need to re-install SSL certificates. If you purchased an SSL certificate from us simply submit a ticket and we'll get it installed for you.

If you notice any problems or have any questions please submit a ticket.

If you have trouble logging into your domains please login to WHM and reset the passwords for them and then you should be able to login without any problems.
