    Default Adding DNS Records

I have my nameservers pointed to ns1.mydomain.com (and ns2) as referenced in my welcome email. I'm trying to add a subdomain using the dns templates. I've put in all sorts of variations:

    secure IN CNAME %domain%.
    secure IN A %ip%
secure IN A [ip of my domain]

I've modified all 3 templates, all to no avail - nothing shows up in nslookup for secure.mydomain.com.

Just how do I do this?

Subdomains should be added via cPanel. The DNS zone templates are used to create the DNS zone for each domain as you create new accounts. You're probably not actually wanting to edit that.

There isn't anything in my cpanel that allows me to add a subdomain.

I'm using the X cPanel theme and there is a subdomain page. You might try changing your cPanel theme in WHM using "Modify an Account".

The only other way to create subdomains in WHM is by creating an entire new account for the subdomain.

Messing around with DNS is dangerous which is why the option in WHM is usually disabled and available only by request.
