Cool Alias same as email address. How can I change address?

    Hey there.
I have an email account setup. Let's say, a@mydomain.com
I also have a forwarder setup. a@mydomain.com forwards to a@gmail.com.

Andrew told me a couple weeks ago that sometimes having a forwarder setup with the same address as an actual account causes problems and that I should remove the email account.

Alas, it's an address with tons of important archive emails. So whenever I need one, I log into webmail and look through the archive. But for the most part I only use the a@gmail.com account for checking mail.

SO, how can I rename the physical account a@mydomain.com without deleting and losing all of my old messages?

    thanks!
    mike

cPanel does not have this option.

You might want to delete this forwarder and set up forwarding via cPanel's webmail interface (http://domain.com/webmail). Not sure how efficient is this, but I think it should do the trick for you, unless I am mistaken?
