I can't believe my eyes, but I have to! It finally happened, I've got a decent internet connection:
Andrew, it worked, actually![]()
Very nice. Sorry the mail was so slow on getting you those mbps![]()
Just an update, Charter is seemingly offering their 60/5 mbit service to almost all of their servicable locations now. I have it available here (South County / St Louis, MO) but due to the high costs (over $100 a month) won't be getting it.
Also, Charter is testing (In Jeffco only) their spankin new 120 Mbit service. I'm not sure what type of upload they are offering with this, but from last info I recieved from a friend who work for Charter, advises they are planning to push this out to most of their service area by summer 2011.

Oh man, we can barely get those speeds in Canada. From Ontario, the best residential connection we can get is about 50/2, 75GB traffic for $100/month with our cable lines. For DSL, companies are starting to roll out 25/7, 75GB for $74.90/month.
I need to post a new speedtest on my current cable connection (25/3 mbit).
Only thing I notice with Charter, on my speed, is when I peg out a download for more than 2 hours using max bandwidth, they like to disconnect the modem a few times an hour. So, if I'm grabbing something via newsgroups, or backing up my dedicated server box (over a TB of space, over 800 gb used (video files)) I have to space it out over a few days, or keep the speed below about 1500kb a sec, else the modem (Charter) will disconnect me.
I did call about the 60mbit service at home the other day. Lowest I can get it (including my current tv service) is for an additional $100 a month. Still too much for what I use it for.
Got a new DOCSIS 3.0 modem from Charter today. Fixed some of my flakey issues.
Thats my 25/3Mbit connection. Now I just need a new router...and...
Oh wait, I just bought a new house, guess thats just a pipe dream.
Not too shabby
Congrats on the new house!
I know its an old thread, but Charter cable in St. Louis area now has 100 Mbit Down / 5 Mbit up internet access. I don't have it, but was tempted. If only the upload speed were more than just 5Mbit, that seems a little low, compared to the download speed.
