Anyone using Gmail with their domain name?

I have a new client who just transferred his domain to godaddy and his hosting to us.
His last web design/host had him setup with Gmail using his own domain name, and his Outlook is only setup to check his email there.

Of course, now with the transfers he isn't getting his email anymore.
Does anyone know the best way to set him back up?

Should the changes be made through cpanel or at the registrar?

The domain's MX records will need to be changed to what they were before via cPanel.

I do use Google Apps for some of my domains. I had to ask Andrew to enable DNS Tools, so that I could set all the name records up correctly (including SRV for Jabber to work etc.), but other than that it's pretty straightforward.

I do have people using Gmail to retrieve email from their mail accounts here, but its controlled by the Gmail app (Gmail acts just like Outlook or Thunderbird in this case, logging in and retrieving the mail from the Dathorn server).

If he has that set up he will have a Gmail account and login, and its controlled from there.
