    MySQL and the server upgrades

I was wondering what the impact is on database dependent web scripts during the server upgrade?
Will MySQL be taken down, the servers migrated, and then MySQL brought back on-line?

The notice says there will be zero downtime, but does that only apply to the web server?

If the database will be down during the migration, I would like to put up a notice so users know what is going on.

Thanks, looking forward to the new servers!

There is zero downtime during the migration. This goes for all services.

I am getting complaints that user data that they deleted has reappeared and new data has disappeared. Are my users seeing things, or did the database edits get whacked because they edited during the migration? This is what I was trying to avoid with my question. Should have played it safe and shut down during the migration me now thinks

There are a number of different factors that could have played into this but ultimately if they made changes during the migration they may not have made it over to the new server.
