    SPF Configuration question

    Hi.

    I'm hosted on cpanel77, I have just enabled SPF, so this record is automatically generated:

    v=spf1 +a +mx +ip4:216.172.104.4 ~all

    However I did some testing and this is the email header:

    Code:
    Received: from mx1.gzo.com (mx1.gzo.com. [216.172.104.8])
    ...
    Received-SPF: softfail (*******.com: domain of transitioning ******@*********.com does not designate 216.172.104.8 as permitted sender) client-ip=216.172.104.8;
    I added 216.172.104.8 and now I get a "Received-SPF: pass"

    My question is: Is it possible this address (216.172.104.8) changes in the future?

    Should I use the following SPF record or something different?

    Code:
     v=spf1 +a +mx +ip4:216.172.104.4 +ip4:216.172.104.8 ~all
    Thanks.

    You will want to include 216.172.104.8 but it wouldn't hurt to also include 199.193.113.29. These are both of our outbound mail relays.

      For future reference and anyone that stumbles on this thread going forward I did just publish a blog post on this very subject, including the required SPF record changes.
