    Default Security for VPS

    Hello,

    Just got a small VPS.
Any advice on how to secure it? I was reading that Fail2ban is a must.
Any recommendation on a firewall for Centos ? The VPS will not have any control panel installed.

    Thank you !

Installing CSF would be a good starting point:

    https://configserver.com/cp/csf.html

This will give you a firewall and brute force detection that Fail2Ban would provide along with many other monitoring options if you wish to configure them.
