    Subdomains. Eh?

    I have two domain names. I have subdomains on each of these.

    sub1.domain1.com -> Redirect 10.10.10.10
    sub2.domain1.com -> Redirect 10.10.10.10
    sub3.domain1.com -> Redirect http://www.domain1.com/sub3/
    sub1.domain2.com -> Redirect 10.10.10.10
    sub2.domain2.com -> Redirect 10.10.10.10
    sub3.domain2.com -> Redirect http://www.domain1.com/sub3/

    This did not work... all subdomains resolve to the webserver IP. What did I miss?

    That IP range is reserved for internal use, so i'd imagine the server is trying to redirect it to itself.
    Are you trying to point the subdomains to your IP address?

      Those are not my real domains nor the real IPs. I went with generic IPs/domains to simplify the problem... and be somewhat anonymous.

      IP for the external server is a valid IP. Sorry for the confusion.

        Not sure why, but sometimes I find my browser doesn't bring up the site I think I'm going to get when I go to one of my URLs on the server. It should, I know, but it doesn't.

        I'm not sure if its the DNS caching on my ISP, or if its something with my browser. I only mention it because it is a possibility that somehow, you are caching a site in your browser and it doesn't reload it to really re-direct it.

          Do you have a dedicated IP or is it the server's shared IP? If it's the servers shared IP then that should answer your question...
