We're currently working to get cpanel21 back online and fully operational as quickly as possible. It was experiencing file I/O problems that we believe may be RAID related as we have been looking into this further. I will post updates as we find out further information.

The RAID array could not be rebuilt, one drive is entirely lost and the other is functioning (for now) enough so that we can transfer the data off of it, we're hoping for minimal data loss here. Once the data is transfered we will begin recreating all of the accounts on a new server and will be transfering the data over to them. All information that we have will be posted here, please refrain from submitting trouble tickets regarding cpanel21 unless it is of extreme importance. -
The data transfer process is about 40% complete. It's taking longer than it would normally due to the fact that the drive we're copying from is near it's end of life and we're transfering it all straight over the network to another server. I currently have a script running recreating all domain accounts which should be done within the next 20 minutes. After this we just have to wait for the data transfer to complete so that we can populate each account with it's data.
Please keep in mind that you will not be able to see these changes until we take the old cpanel21 offline and swap it out with the replacement and change all of the IPs over.Comment

Just wanted to give a quick update, all accounts have been recreated on the new server. We're just waiting on the data to finish transfering. We've encountered a few problems with reading small portions of the drive which has slowed us down some. We hope to have the server up sometime between 10PM-11:59PM CST this evening.Comment

The server is now back online. After having completed this "restore" of accounts and data, you will need to do at least the following on your accounts.
** First you will have to reset your WHM password via the customer control panel.
1. Change all domain passwords via WHM.
2. Recreate all e-mail accounts via cPanel, the e-mail boxes are there you just need to recreate the accounts via cPanel and they will work.
3. Recreate all subdomains via cPanel - the data for these is already there in the same folders, they just need to be recreated so that they will function.
4. Chmod directories to 755 (public_html included).
5. Chmod PHP scripts to 644.
6. Several domains we could not recreate using their original package so you will need to upgrade/downgrade the account in WHM to the correct package.
7. Install SSL certificates.
Virtually any other settings you had in cPanel will need to be setup once again, this may include SpamAssassin, BoxTrapper, e-mail forwarders, additional FTP accounts, custom DNS settings, etc. If you have any questions please submit a trouble ticket.Last edited by AndrewT; 10-25-2005, 11:12 PM.Comment

We're aware of the issue with domains showing up as "yourdomain.com" in cPanel and not having a list to choose from when creating e-mail accounts, etc. We're working with cPanel to try and resolve this as quickly as possible. Many users have reported though that there e-mail still works regardless of this current problem.Last edited by AndrewT; 10-25-2005, 11:46 PM.Comment
