    cpanel35 emergency maintenance

I apologize for such a late notice on this but we've been working on this server non-stop trying to get the performance problems resolved.

About half an hour ago we took the server offline to replace some faulty RAM and we also went ahead and added another 1GB of RAM. We're continuing to monitor this server very closely to see if any further problemes arise. I apologize for the inconvenience this has undoubtedly caused some of you. Hardware problems are fairly rare and sometimes can be difficult to isolate.

I'll continue to update this thread as is necessary.

We have now replaced a dead CMOS battery in the server that was causing various problems and made the server inoperable shortly after 2:30PM CST this afternoon. We're continuing to monitor the server for any additional problems.

cpanel35 will be taken offline within the next few minutes so that we can do a complete chasis swap as we believe that there are still other hardware problems present which are causing the machine to fail.

We ran into some additional problems (imagine that ) while swapping the chasis but the server is now online once again. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

We've already decided that cpanel35 will be the next server upgraded to cpanel46. We were planning on doing this next week but if problems continue this may begin immediatley. We're going to continue monitoring cpanel35 very closely for any further problems.

We're going to go ahead and proceed with the upgrade today. I'll start another thread regarding this shortly.
