    12/14/07 - cpanel42 Upgrade

ATTN ALL customers located on cpanel42, please read and understand this entire thread thoroughly.

On December 14th starting at around 8AM CST cpanel42 will be upgraded to new hardware.

Instead of being on cpanel42, users will now be on cpanel65.

    Server: cpanel65.gzo.com - 74.86.230.3
    Shared Hosting IP: 67.228.17.160
    DNS #1: dns129.gzo.com - 67.228.17.161
    DNS #2: dns130.gzo.com - 67.228.20.72

    IMPORTANT
Anyone that has custom nameservers or that has used the cpanel42 DNS IP addresses (74.52.39.196 and 74.52.38.16) for anything will need to update their entries to the new nameservers and IPs listed above.

To avoid all possible downtime on your domains, do not make any DNS changes until we have confirmed here in the forums that the cpanel42 account transfers have been completed.

Those that are using the cpanel42 gzo.com nameservers (dns55/dns56 or dns83/dns84) without IPs, do not need to change anything. They will be updated to the new IPs automatically.

We advise all users to disable anything involving MySQL updates (order forms, forums, CMS, etc.) until it is up and running on the new server. This will avoid updates being lost during the transfer and ending up with a database that is out of sync. If this is not an option, you can leave everything active, cpanel42 will still be online for a few days following the upgrade. But you will be responsible for transferring any database updates that might be needed.

Once again, if you have any questions or comments, please submit a trouble ticket.

I greatly apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause but we're going to go ahead and push this upgrade back until this Friday, December 14th. I've already updated this thread's title and the initial post to reflect this change.

The reason for this being pushed back is that I personally like to oversee each and every server upgrade to make sure that everything is completed as best as possible. Due to the recent ice storm(s) across the Midwest, my house in Tulsa has not had utility power since Monday at 6:45AM along with over 200,000 other PSO customers. As a result, I am unable to devote my full attention to this upgrade as would normally be the case. Ultimately I just want to make sure that this upgrade is done right and that is why it has been pushed back a couple of days. I appreciate your patience and understanding.

Note that as a result of this upgrade you will no longer be able to access WHM on cpanel42.

All cpanel42 customers should now be able to login to WHM on cpanel65 with the same login information as they used for cpanel42. Please do not do anything with this yet, however, as the domain accounts have not been transfered yet.

If you login to the customer control panel and view your welcome e-mail, it should now list cpanel65 as your server.

We're now transfering accounts from cpanel42 to cpanel65. This process may take 24 hours or so to complete.

The transfers are coming along nicely but not as quickly as we had planned on. We hope to have this upgrade completed by 1:00PM CST tomorrow.

All accounts have now been transfered. You should now change your DNS/nameservers to the new cpanel65 nameservers if necessary.

You may need to re-install SSL certificates on the new server (cpanel65). If you purchased one from us simply submit a ticket and we can re-install it for you.

If you encounter any further problems, please submit a trouble ticket.

HTTP on cpanel42 will be disabled on Friday, 12/21/07. Please be sure that all DNS updates are made prior to that.
