Over the past couple of months we have been hard at work transitioning all servers over from PHP 5.2 to PHP 5.3 as the default version. Only a very small number of clients had issues with this transition and all such issues were almost exclusively due to PHP scripts not having been kept updated.
Per the previous maintenance windows, we have now scheduled complete removal of PHP 5.2. This will occur on October 16th on all of our servers.
After that time there will be absolutely no option to use PHP 5.2. During the transition to PHP 5.3 if you found that your scripts did not work due to them not having been updated or whatever it may be, you must perform the necessary work to make them PHP 5.3 compatible prior to October 16th. Failure to do so will result in these scripts no longer functioning.
To re-iterate, if you've added "AddHandler application/x-httpd-php52 .php" to any of your .htaccess files to make use of PHP 5.2, this will no longer work. PHP 5.2 will not be available at all. Please plan and make arrangements to fix any remaining issues before October 16th.
If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to submit a ticket and we'll gladly address them.
