    6/23/04 - cpanel24 upgrade

NOTE: This scheduled date (6/16/04) is merely an estimate and may change.

We will be moving all users on cpanel24 to a new replacement server at The Planet with our new backup system, etc. This will not require any nameserver changes or anything, we will take care of all that. But due to all IPs changing, propagation will be an issue (~48 hours). However, the old cpanel24 will remain online until 7/1/04 which will give plenty of time for everyone's DNS to update.

This will also mark the closing of all services at the RackMy/Xiolink datacenter due to the mere fact that we just aren't using it as much as we had expected and thus it isn't very cost effective for us to try and maintain it as well.

I will update this thread as the move date draws nearer.

This is being put on hold until further notice, we're having some issues with The Planet's new datacenter that need to be worked out before we can even expect to have customers there.

The account transfers have now begun. Once this is all complete I will post the new DNS IPs here. If you are using your own custom nameservers then you will have to change the IP addresses of them. If you are using our gzo.com nameservers then you will not need to do anything.

You are now responsible for any changes that are made to your accounts (including MySQL databases) because depending on when your accounts are transfered these changes may or may not be included.

I will update this thread occasionally to note the progress of this transfer process.

The process is about 60% complete at this time, it is going much smoother and quicker than previous moves that we have done.

The entire transfer process has now been completed. Please login to the customer control panel and if you view your welcome e-mail you will see the new cpanel24 IP address and DNS IP addresses. You can still access the old server via the IP 63.246.3.135, it will remain online for at least another 5 days. So be sure to double check that everything was transfered and to get any updates that you need to before that time.

Also, you will need to re-install any SSL certificates that you may have had.

IMPORTANT: As I said previously, if you are using your own customer nameservers you need to change the IPs of them to the new ones that are listed in the customer control panel for your server. If you are using our gzo.com nameservers, you do not need to do anything.
