Is it even possible to remove highlights in a pdf?

Ive been trying to remove highlights from this document for the last 3 hours, with no luck, except converting them to images, which is of no use to me.

Concordia University's Faculty of Arts and Science is home to some of the most innovative classroom teaching and cutting-edge research in Canada.

I tried going into Acrobat, and it won't select the text thats highlighted...uuuugh.

    Any help?

    Thanks

In the full version of Acrobat I have at work, the highlighter tool is used for this (see Tools*Toolbars*Annotation to find it.) I know I can undo highlighter I have put on the document ... if I get a chance, I'll try this at work tomorrow.

My free copy of Adobe here at home does not have an Annotation toolbar. I did find a site that had a little tutorial on it: http://www.uwex.edu/ics/wlweb/tutori...ting/annot.pdf

Those areas with highlights are graphic images, not text.

The document was created on August 30th, 2004 from a WordPerfect file. The highlights may have been added there and when the pdf file was created, those areas were interpreted as graphics.

The original file was in the user "Ron"'s folder. If you know him, maybe you can get a copy of the WordPerfect file. Otherwise, you can run the file through an OCR program so as you can output a new file.
