I hadn't upgraded my phpBB forums in quite a while; some domains were at 2.0.6, while one was still at 2.0.3! But after Andrew's message in the Announcements Forum at http://forums.dathorn.com/showthread.php?t=1201, I knew I had to upgrade them all.
They are done. Even the upgrade from 2.0.3 went well, although for a minute I thought I had lost all the uploaded pictures in the forums (done with the relatively complex "Attachment Mod".)
One side benefit is that version 2.0.11 has "Visual Confirmation" of registrations, where the user has to enter the numbers displayed in a .gif on screen to continue with the registrations. It has cut down the number of bogus registrations I have to wade through each day.
For most of my sites, simply uploading the "New Files" pack worked great. On the one heavily modded forum that was running 2.0.3, it took some more work, but I was done in three hours.
