    Photography of Bears

Okay this is the 2nd bear to visit us; first was just
after one of the hurricanes, 2nd just now!

My question is, is it wise/smart (i.e. safe if you do NOT have a suicide wish)
to take a flash night time picture of a Florida Bear?

Oh and my room~ three walls are aprx 85% glass each (glassed in Florida room)
and he was standing bout 2ft away trying to get into the trash can

to ask advice off of computer geeks whether or not it is wise/smart (i.e. safe if you do NOT have a suicide wish) to take a flash night time picture of a Florida Bear?

Florida has bears? What kind of bears are they?

I read on a picnic table in Yellowstone once that if you are walking and come face to face with a bear, you should not panic and remember to wave your arms up and down above your head, like you're doing jumping jacks in slow motion, and make a lot of noise. This makes you appear larger to the bear, and perhaps it will run from you. As with most wild animals, they will attack only if they feel threatened. And I'm thinking, maybe they will feel threatended by a maniac waving his arms in the air and trying to not act scared, but peeing his pants. Or I might run into the one bear in the woods that is just a little paranoid.

Jonathan don't tick off the hungry bear. My parents took a picture of me raiding the refrigerator one night and I was tick off for 15 years .... till I got that picture away from them! All you could see was pair of feet and my ass sticking out from behind the refrigerator door.

I'm glad they didn't catch me with my head in a garbage can and my feet stuck up in the air!

P.S. Got quick post to work!

LOL. Frank, I have NO idea! I just know it was black, had big giant eyes
and looked like he was licking his lips (maybe I just imagined this part LOL but it seemd it!)

Oh well he didn't come back
Still, VERY interesting to see it up close (again)!

          waltonics- Very good point there

I suggest you look here: http://www.defenders.org/bebearaware/images/press.pdf

If you ever do get a good shot of the bear, send me a copy.

              Here, this might help:

Caereful, bears are smarter than they look.
