What's your favorite CMS that works fine?

What's your favorite CMS that you've actually installed on Dathorn's servers and it's been working fine in a live setting?

    e107 (www.e107.org)

Easy to user interface, loads fine. Easy backup. Works for me. Check my sig for the site.

I use WordPress as a CMS/backend for nearly every site I design. With all of the plugins out there it is very easy to turn it from a blogging tool to a fairly complete CMS, and users find it easy to work with.

ChrisTech, I'm having an issue with e107 and the Coppermine Gallery plug in ... can't seem to upload files into it. What did you do on permissions for e107? Just 744 on folders and 644 on files? Are you using the Coppermine plug in with e107?

I'm not familiar with that script, but because dathorn uses phpSuExec, you do not normally have to chmod any files or folders.

                    Frank,

In your opinion - is Coppermine the best graphics library plug-in?

                    Thanks,

I haven't looked at any of the others for e107, but I like Coppermine as a stand alone application (especially if the user database is integrated with phpBB or something similar). Because I know it, I was hoping to use the plug-in with e107, but it doesn't acknowledge receiving the upload.

                          Frank,

If you find the answer and incorporate all the pieces, it would be helpful to see your result if it's public. Thanks for the reply.

If i get time this weekend I'll take another look at it, and let you know. I suspect its a permissions problem with uploading into the program.

There are at least two competing implementations of Coppermine for e107, so it might not be a good choice ... seems there are several problems with both implementations.

No joy, I'm afraid. The Coppermine implementation in e107 did finally start working without intervention, but the app lacks the ability to do batch uploads unless you enable an FTP account. There's also a "kig" gallery for e107, but it also requires FTP to do batch uploads.

There simply aren't any CMS worth installing. I have yet to find one that didn't suffer from one or more fatal flaws. In e107's case, the lack of a good image gallery is a tremendous oversight. Having to install a hack, with the uneven implementation and spotty support, just won't do.
