I can already tell you that we will not be offering a sub $100/month dedicated server any time in the near future.

How is the progress on this?

I am finally looking into dedicated offerings as I am getting into quite a number of account suspensions due to high MySQL usage and hgh volume email marketing done by some of my clients. Have a dedicated server will sure allow my clients to continue such activties without problems.

Hopefully the dedicated offering will have the following:
      1) Ability to create WHM reseller accounts.
      2) Be managed by the same kind of service standards that all Dathorn clients have been enjoying till to date.
      3) Able to burst/abuse my server for my clients to do online web-based games and high volume email marketing.
      4) Allow the occasional root access to install customed apps (by myself or better yet, through Dathorn support. I dun mind paying)
      5) MTRG
      6) Backup options through the second HDD in some of the offerings or have other backup options available.

Andrew, do let me know if those are possible. Thanks!

We do plan on offering all of those features to some extent. Right now we're working on specifics, we're not going to offer dedicated servers until we have exactly what we want.

Which summer do you mean - northern or southern hemisphere?

Summer for many of us starts in December...

We're hoping to. Servers will be available on a per quote basis to existing customers only.

My magic price point for a server would be $150 a month. That would have to include cpanel plus managed support that included linux, cpanel, php, mysql updates and patches. I would handle all the application level updates. I would not need root access. But, from previous discussions, I'm probably about $50 short.

As of right now the minimum server price is $179/month. This includes cPanel, Fantastico, and some server management.

However, we're going to hold off on dedicated servers for the time being. I would like to get more of our existing shared hosting servers upgraded to our new platform as quickly as possible. Opening dedicated server sales would only hinder this.

I know this is an old thread but I think I might be interested in this.
