I think with this many ppl against it,
and people saying they'd move ALL their accounts away (some with more than one acct),
I'd be surprised if Andrew was still thinking about it...

Personally, like I said its a plus and
I know my uncle (web designer) would NEVER move
his clients over to my hosting w/o Shell/SSH

I have SSH disabled on all accounts I don't personally manage, and mention that shell access is not available in my TOS. If someone wants it, they have to explain why, and then its turned on for a limited amount of time so they can accomplish that task.

That being said, I do use SSH for the sites I manage, and find it invaluable. I would also have to move if it was disabled, although after having such a good experience here, I would be hard pressed to find another reseller I would be happy with. I think I would have to go the VPS route or bite the bullet and get a dedicated server.

Yup, SSH was the reason I came here as well. I think/hope Dathorn will do the right thing, keeping it. Otherwise I'll have some unhappy clients as I move their sites, including the possible unhappy customer here... Me.

i only uses dathorn for my own sites and only use ssh for transferring my files to and from the account via winscp, i cannot ftp to the account due to isp issues so ssh removal would cause me to find another host and i would appreciate some forewarning so i can get my files and databases.
And yes i have more than one account here.

I have a policy that my clients cannot get Shell access or even cpanel access. All I allow is ftp access to site and that is for few who need to update their sites. If one needs more, he is not client I am targeted to and should get Dathorn reseller account by himself.

I do not use SSH often, but when I need it I need it. As someone said. Diaabling shell access would be serious reason to move which would be hard decision since Dathorn provides excellent service.

I use ssh for building tables and such. I know this can be done in phpMyAdmin, but I prefer to use the command line.

I would never offer any clients ssh access or any access for that matter. I will only host sites I am building and maintaining.
