    How to access Postini services

So I have an account with Dathorn and it's good to see that Postini's services are offered and that they work so well.

I also have another server with another host, one that doesn't offer Postini as an option (and don't plan to). The problem is that I would love to utilise Postini's spam filtering on the domain that I run on that server.

Emails to Postini asking about services to individuals or small companies wanting protection on a single domain have gone unanswered.

Do they offer these services to individuals or business's with small needs? Or do they see that as not economically feasible and only offer services to hosting companies and ISP's?

Can anyone point me in the direction of any web pages with information about services which may be applicable in this case? Or have contact information for someone that might actually respond?

We offer Postini accounts for $2.50/month/each. You can submit a ticket to request one to be added to your account. It quite simply is superb virus and spam filtering for your e-mail.

I think that all you need to use Postini is just to replace your MX records with the records they provide, so you can purchase Postini account @ Dathorn and use it with the domain hosted elsewhere provided that you have an active account here.

So if your other host is cPanel based (you can specify a custom MX record for cPanel-managed domain) or offers the ability to edit DNS records that shouldn't be a problem.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Correct for the most part but we only offer Postini accounts for domains that are actually hosting their e-mail on our servers.

That's what I thought. The domain is with another host because the site is adult but I am trying to find out how I can utilise Postini if it's something the host does not offer.

Can an individual purchase Postini services directly from them? If so has any one got any ideas on how because their website isn't helpful and they wont respond to email enquiries.

Postini only sells to larger resellers, they do not sell to individuals directly.

If you wish to use our Postini services then you could create an account for the domain on our servers and then just handle the e-mail for the domain on our servers.
