It got caught due to my trouble ticket. 2 of my forums on cpanel08 (diff. sites) had same issue at that time. After the load went back to normal, both forums could actually load again.

I didnt know we could cp & tar (ie backup) our websites for 16 min (cp) and over 8 min that I know of (for tar) durring the middle of the afternoon. Id expect that @ 1-6 am, but not 2.30 pm.

I only found out about the forums not loading due to 6 calls to my cell, and 9 msn pm's to me askin why my forums were down. Bleh.

I believe Andrew said that backups and cron jobs take place during the wee hours of the morning, so if that's when you are experiencing slowdowns, that might be contributing.

Also, I remember Andrew saying that Cpanel08 had some inherent performance issues. I don't remember if they were ever resolved or not.

I too am on 08, and I definitely notice times where it's very zippy, and other times where it's slower than a molasses covered three-legged turtle climbing up a hill in a freezing snowstorm.

Yes this is true it would be nice to happen at that time. But in which timezone? Due to the nature of the internet, it is world thing so what is suitable for you isn't suitable for some one on the other side of the planet.

We all just have to be considerate of the server resources that we use when we conduct processes at convenient times for us.

And that's why I dumped a foriegn webhost, due to ignorant backup times, udpates at times that messed with my forums, ect.

Im in CST or -6 GMT Same as the server, and same as the webhost. I know Andrew updates his servers at the offtimes unless its an emergency update or such. I researched before I bought.
