    That was painful!

Wow! The upgrade of Cpanel08 was p-a-i-n-f-u-l!

I did not check throughout the day, but sites which have regularly been receiving 100 - 150 unique visits per day were reduced to like 17! OUCH!

I've gotten about a dozen emails from perturbed clients. I thought it was going to be relatively painless, but I guess not.... By the way- does anyone know what Googlebot does if it comes to a site and finds nothing? Will the site become un-indexed?

I had no problems with my sites after the upgrade. I havent even gotten any emails. Everything appears to be OK.

Hey... this seemed like it was a piece of cake compared to CP04 (problems / major downtime for 3+ days)!

      Count your blessings!

Hats off to Andrew and his team for getting this process down so tight... can't image moving all that stuff and getting everything setup exactly the same!

Keep up the good work guys!

The most a site would have been unavailable was an hour or two, other than that they were always active with no problems but the stats that transfered may not have been live as to the actual site that was being visited on the old server.

Lest ye think I be joshin'.......

Here's a stats pic from one just small site. Down from 50 or 60 uniques per day to 3! Then today, back up to 69! Fortunately this is no big commercial site or nuthin'.

Things appear to be back to normal, all folks are happy again (relatively), LOL!

You're not quite understanding what I'm saying, you did not lose anywhere near that much traffic at all.

The domain transfers took over 24 hours to complete before the new server was put online. Whenever your domain was transfered, your logs and stats were too. But, from that point until the time that the new server replaced the old one, you would not have ANY stats for the visitors on the new server that were still going to your site which was working perfectly fine on the old server.

Ahhh! I think I am observing the illumination!

So the 3 visits recorded were on the OLD server after the change.. and the NEW server was updated then by AWStatst for the 18th! So all that was really lost was the record of the hits, not the actual traffic.

Thank you for clarifying this Andrew, you are a wizard!

PS-> I'm sure this will be comforting to all the upcoming upgrades as well.

I would also like to add.... the new server is noticably faster on everything.

                  YAY!
