    Default TOS & AUP?

    Hmm; I don't really want to take Dathorn's as its...very long,
    even though I know it'd cover EVERY single possibility, most likely...

    I'm not sure; I'm thinking of making my own TOS and AUP policies;
    if so, anybody got any ideas for "Short, sweet, and to the point" sort of ones?

    I don't want one of 'em jumbo five pages, super legality talk ones;
    basicly, just a "plain good ol' " one; something everyone can understand.

    So ~ I can't think of anything *obvious* nor *off the beaten path*
    that I should define as allowed/not allowed/equals account termination...

    so any ideas guys?

    My TOS and AUP = Andrew's TOS and AUP (except for any references to reselling, etc...)!

    Reason? That way my clients are on exactly the same page as me!

      ic ic; lol any ideas on how to shorten it into "General English",
      so that my customers can understand what the hell it means?

        I agree on this one. I always start out with Andrew's AUP and TOS, and then expand on it for what I want. Otherwise, my customers may inadvertently violate one of the terms without knowing it. Better to give too much information rather than too little!

            *WARNING - WHAT NOT TO DO*

            1) Start working on the AUP then 3/4ths way through
            realize you've been copying the TOS.

            2) Start working on the TOS and then realize
            you've yet to complete the AUP.

              I had my own fun when I did a global search and replace. Its amazing how many times the letter combination "DIS" comes up. DISturbing, actually!

                That's exactly what happened to me, Frank!

                Very annoying isn't it.

                I knew i should have done a case sensitive search and replace for DIS instead :P

                  some-odd 2-days later, a caloused hand, and losing my sanity,
                  and countless spelling and XHTML mistakes later, its done

                  I'm gonna crawl back to my cave now, this hurts...

                    Yeah, case sensitive, and replace "DIS " (notice the space) with "hostname " (again, notice the space.)

                    I may have been able to retype the thing faster than fix my "Find and Replace" errors! Oh well.
