    A Private Lounge?

Ok.... the Crazy Dog has a suggestion to throw out for everyone to stomp on (or support).

We have thirteen great, active, public, indexed forums here.
Would it be possible to add one, single private, (non-indexed) Members Only LOUNGE?

In there, we could talk about anything from Clients to Catastrophes to Cuss-words! Soup to Nuts! Lakers versus Pistons!

There's nothing to lose! We could give it a try, and if no one ever uses it, or if it doesn't work out, just ZAP it!
The dog was wrong, bad idea, all my fault, Bad Doggie!

    What do you guys think?
Please be gentle on ole' DomainDog!

This could be skirted, because if your client just
can find out your reseller's name (Dathorn), they
can come and sign up and troll the members-only forum

    But otherwise....eh....
I don't want to be supportive of it,
but I don't want to flat out reject it-- cause,
I really hate it when adults do that 2me, thinkin
    I can't do something just cuz I'm a teen!

    So-- I'll support it!

100% against it. Looks like we have something to hide.

But Chris- there are thousands of "for pay" or "members only" forums and websites on the internet.

Surely you don't believe they all have "something to hide"?

          I'm against it too.

How would you determine membership? I hope (no offense) the moderators don't have access to Dathorn's customer data? This would mean some work on Dathorn's side, most of which should've been setup before the BB even opened again, IMO. But, even so it looks like your talking about something that would cost some time and money even to implement.

There's a nice plus to not having a members only forum...everyone has to think before posting. Could use more of that.

If you are a webhost and have a "members only" section. Then yes, I do believe you have something to hide. I've had other hosts (two), whom have had evolved to the "members only" sections, and yes, they do hide stuff there.

Its pretty simple, if you don't want your customers to find your post here. Simply don't post here. Take care of your problems through the trouble ticket system. If your customers are smart enough to find dathon, odds are they will find wht as well.

ditto. andrew and his team got more things to worry about; would have worked it the forums just started out.

Well...... THIS has been a popular concept.

OK! I surrender! I capitulate! I give up! please, just don't hit me anymore!

Keep them open. My last host was closed. They might as well not had a forum at all. Even if one was private I don't think people would bother to log in.

That's two surrenders in one day!

President Bush should have such luck.
