Okay-- anybody here who plays
video games probably has heard of this one.

I host a clan site (though clan is now dead, due keeps paying 4it)
and the guy wants to host a video of a funeral.

The clan is for "America's Army"

Basicly a kid who played AAO, who had cancer from what I gather,
died ~~ and the guy wants to host the video of the funernal.

Should I allow this? Its a funernal, so
wouldn't be "graphical" I'd not think...yet is this ethically sound?

Assuming the family is OK with it, I don't see a problem with having a site that has video of the funeral. Not sure where there's an ethical problem at all on this one!

As long as the video is his and not the families then it should be fine. If it is the families, he will need permission before he uploads it.

I would still recommend he have the family's permission out of common courtesy.

Get it in Writing

I'm not a lwayer, I simply work with an artist and his web site. Having said that, I can offer: "Get it in writing."

1. Ensure he owns the video (or has a written document allowing its use, and him to use it, for this specific purpose).
2. He should have permission from the family to post the video on the web as that's a private occassion on a public vehicle. In the worst of cases, you'll need the permission of every person appearing in the video that they allow their visage to be publicized in that manner. They may provide this permission for a limited time and if so, remove it as instructed in the agreement of use.
3. Once there, include the copyright information and permission statements on the web page (small text).

Getting it all in writing is his responsibility - not yours. An agreement will keep you out of trouble.

well apparently on the official forums for this game,
the family released the video giving permission

Anyways-- I'm trusting him on this, and got
it in writting that he had the family's permission.

Also it just blew through 2.7GBs+ of bandwidth
in under two days, so now he's cursing and getting rid of it :P
