    Any experience with WebGUI?

Hi, I have been using mambo and I like the simplicity, but mambo is not flexible. I just found another CMS called WebGUI (www.plainblack.com). It seems this CMS offers the most flexible features. The system requirements recommend a dedicated server. I was wondering if anyone here has experience running WebGUI on virtual server like Dathorn?

    Thanks!

I couldn't find the system requirements
Also if they recommend a dedicated server, thats
basicly a complete turnoff depending on the resources.

Also Perl (which it is written in) is horrible @ resource
from what I hear; note, *from what I hear*

Dathorn is very stringent about resources used in the shared environment, so I doubt if this CMS would be acceptable. I'm not familiar with it, but I did look at the site a while back, and crossed it off the list based on the requirements they list. I thought it wasn't a candidate for our use here based on that. Andrew would be the one to ask, though; you might email him or submit a trouble ticket with the exact list of system requirements copied directly from Plain Black Software's site.

Nice object orient code but it does look like it would have a large foot print per page.

WebGUI.pm uses 15 other files just it self. Those 15 files also use other files. The size of those 15 files (over 100KB) isn't as important as the fact each one has to be open, read and closed. Disk operations are a bottleneck usually on a shared server even more so.

I couldn't find where they said a dedicated server is needed? However, if they did say that I like the honesty.
