I'm thinking of installing invision board and using this on a domain we have. Anyone on Dathorn using this platform?

Invision Board Ok
I installed Invisionboard a few months back to see how it worked. The install was fairly easy and customizing ok once I understood how the options related. I never put it in production because the client need was solved more effectively by using a full Content Management System with a forum module. If I were to do it again, I'd pick a stable release. For my test I used a new release and would have had to deal with a couple of updates just during my short trial period had I been trying to deploy it.
I think the previous forum here used the first release of Invision. Dathorn changed to VBulletin but I haven't seen any reference to the reason behind the switch. Maybe someone else knows. -
Invision Power Board runs excelent in this server. I run v1.3 and v2.0 PDR1 smoothly (All versions are free, just that you don't have support). Also if you have the money I would recommend you to use it on official IPB support license that wasting it on vB.
Seriously, I've used the 2 of them, and vB support... well lets leave it like that.
Thanks & Regards.Comment

I've installed some-odd 35+ IPB forums;
of course, many were "tests" and such, mainly
to try newest releases, try to skin it, etc.
phpBB, I hate with a passion; yet
I am forced to use it, as both my personal & business
sites are PHP-Nuke w/ the ported phpBB

Ever since becoming a pay software, Invision's customer support has been just as professional and good as vBulletin's. I have interacted with both of the companies' support staff, and Invision's support is just as good as vBulletin's, and IPB is an awesome piece of software, especially 2.0, which is much cheaper than vBulletin and just as good.Originally posted by -Oz-Invision Powerboard works just fine on all Dathorn servers. The reason for the switch probably invovled that vb is more professional and vb has much better tech support.Comment
