FTP upload using Transit fails frequently, leaving an undeletable file

    FTP client:
    Transmit 3.5.3

    Problem:
Uploading a file to my Dathorn service has been causing the FTP client program to hang. When it hangs I can use the *disconnect* feature in the FTP client to stop the hang. I can reconnect after disconnecting, but when I do I see that it leaves a file named
    .pureftpd-upload.4477e068.15.2b2f.574df36
(actually, the trailing numbers may be changing, but the prefix before the numbers is always the same)

Heres the error message I receive when I attempt to delete this ".pureftpd-upload. . ." file:
    Prohibited file name: .pureftpd-upload.4477e068.15.2b2f.574df36
    Error -144: remote delete failed

Turning the client's passive mode off does not seem to have any effect.

Now, sometimes I actually can upload files with Transmit, but this is becoming a very annoying problem--especially when I'm trying to update index.html files.

Any help or insight you share will be appreciated very much.

I would try a different FTP client. You cau submit a trouble ticket and give us the path of the files to delete for you if you want as well.

I've had this problem occur occasionally with filezilla, and while I'm not sure if its pureftp or FZ, Cpanel's file manager can usually delete files that FTP can't
