    damn -- roof busted semi-

    Well our roof that we "repaired", alot of placed busted--
    the major of the show? A nice water stream through the HEAD of the CELING FAN!!

    Stero ruined (or @least speakers are [but it was old so o well])
    TV might be ruined (has good spots of water on it I think it'll survive)
    PS might be ruined (didn't even have time to check this)
    all my PS games are ruined, along with TV/VCR remote
    VCR might be, dunno 4sure (same condition as TV)
    My $150+ worth of books were (thank god) saved
    My $50+ worth of movies were saved I think; some have sprinks of water, so dunno

    As for my bro's books (he has bout 3x as many as me) are in good
    condition, but yet to extract-- too many, not enuff space to put them.

    His DVD Player and TV, unknown; likely to survive from 1st glance
    His digital camra was saved (thank god for the case)

    Both the beds 100% soaked, sheets drenched.
    I only own a handful of shirts and two jeans as it is (not good clothes person),
    but thankfully my shirts were saved and my other pair of jeans where in dirty clothes pile.

    All my CDs were saved, along with portable CD player;
    not 100% sure on the status of his some-odd 35+ DVDs, nor
    his couple cases worth of CDs...

    The PC is 100% fine, as its in lil sis's room, which
    isn't a built-on section of the house like me and bro's room was.
    Too think, not even 5mins b4 this happened I was writting a tutorial
    on this cool Photoshop trick, on forums I frequent, not to meantion
    thinking of going to buy that 120GB harddrive...

      I am in the process of getting our roof replaced. I have been putting it off, until now. Good thing, because last weekend we had heavy rain for about 3 days, and we can see a some water come through. Doesn't look too bad, but its bad enough.

        dunno per se the specs of our house insurance;
        I know we have it, as year ago when we bought this place,
        the morage place said we had to get the insurance within "x" days of closing

        Plus-- looking @ it in the daylight, it looks more like simply
        massive amounts of small links (to make effect of a large one I guess);

        But, the TV, Stero-- don't care bout those;
        rarely use my TV, been awhile since used the Stero;
        but my prized Black Hawk Down movie is totalled (Damn VHS!!!)

            @time I didn't own a DVD-player and bro was selfish bout his

            But I plan on slowly buying DVD versions of all
            my movies, just this speeds it up; my new comp has DVD-ROM

              well found out the basic problem.

              See, the roof is a "trailer" style one (not like the actual house one),
              and its slightly down angled towards the end.

              The biggest part? lol you'll love this- a huge tree over the our roof
              So our theory right now, is that the sudden hard 5-mins of hardcore rain,
              plus accounting for obviously SOME junk already in there, blocked up the gutter.

              And we already knew we had a good number of *small* leaks across the roof
              of that room, except usually they didn't leak if the gutter wasn't clogged.

              Well ~ gutter got clogged, and all that water sitting there;
              you can just image how it ended with my stero ruined
