Nice too know, wish I know it in the beginning when I was recieving bills for it. But bankruptcy took care of all that. You can alway tell when your really screwed, the lawyer give you a brake.

My mother been on dailysis since 9/2001 for kidney failure. Right before Tricare FL started in 10/2001 for military dependents. She got sick in the gap when there was no coverage. It took me several months to get her Tricare coverage up and running. Her military ID expired while she was in the hospital. When she came out of the hospital I couldn't just take her to the McDill AF Base. 9/11 made it a long wait to get on any base. Not that she was in any shape to go anyway. It took her about a year to even sort of recover.

If you have any tips Frank, I'm all ears.

Glad I could be of service...I do not live in a flood zone, but I am sure my policy will be dropped and rasied also. #@$@#$ At least I have until April 2005.

It is a crime how much medical costs, I have serveral friends who are doctors and a lot of them are just barely making it. Their insurance is killing them.

I found some homeower insurance with AIM Insurance Agency - 727-772-7800 ext 211. Not actually the one who offered the cheapest coverage but she had a good attitude. The cheapest I found was Bozeman Insurance at 727-347-3158.

        Couple tips:
        1. Determine the square footage of what you want covered. Don't include carports, sheds or anything else unless your going for a low or zero deductible.
        2. Tell your agent how much coverage you want don't let them tell you. I got away with market value plus about 40%.
        3. Escrow sucks you can't do multiple payments. Next month I'm on a diet, DAMN PROPERTY TAXES!

        Thanks everyone for your help.

If she qualified for Medicare, i.e., paid taxes into the SS system, or was a qualified widow or spouse, she should have been covered under Medicare Part A for dialysis (see the government booklet at http://www.medicare.gov/Library/PDFN...ub&PubID=10128 )

You might be able to get a refund of monies paid prior to having to declare bankruptcy if she was qualified to receive the benefit. I don't know what kind of "statute of limitations" they apply to overpayment, but refunds are sometimes given. (My wife was a social worker for geriatrics for 25 years in her prior job.)

Thanks Frank but I didn't pay them. As soon as my mother was out of the hospital, I was on the phone to a bankruptcy lawyer ... ooook actually before she was out. Dialysis fixed the billing problem. You can always tell a really good medical billing service becease the bill and the threat to turn it over to collectors arrive on the same day.
