    WOW... New Forum Rocks

It is taking me a bit to get use to the format, but I'm already seeing some REALLY cool new features.

I especially like the dynamic menus and being able to hover my mouse over a thread title to see the contents... that is WAY cool!

    Keep up the great work!

I like it, but I would have liked more IPB v1.3 and soon when final, IPB v2.0.

      I'll second that.

New format is great, just wish there was a backup of all the old posts.

Yeah I really like the new forums too. Bummer about the old posts, but these forums seem pretty active. Won't take long.

What I expect from forum is that I can read and post. EVerything else is not so importan. Although this new forum has lots of features, I find it most important to show messages in clean, readable manner. It is not. I would recomend some simpler template which will alow us to read messages, not to search for them among other "cool" stuf.

And yes, next time Andrew recommends us to do backups, lets nuke him.

As a lurker on the old forum, I, too, have no use for cute features, and I especially miss the archived information. Right now, I'd really like to go back and re-read those conversations about redundant drives that made backups unnecessary . . .

I agree with Pedja and rsowen, I too prefer the old format. Maybe it's just my age showing through and my slowing ability to adapt. I like clean, easy to read formats and this template so far, hasn't shown me that. Hopefully I'll get used to it after a while.

Hehe, redundant drives and backup systems have a potential to bite you in the arse big time We have NASs, SANs, offsite tape backups, and redundant hardware at my day job, and we still manage to have data loss/corruption issues ever once in a while.

I agree we you guys as well. Clean and simple.
Andrew said somewhere that he will change the skin, but is not a priority at the moment. We will just have to wait

Im a bit dissapointed as well. I was a huge fan of IPB and i found it a lot more friendly and it definately better looking then vB, i appreciate the fact that they can both be skinned to make them look like pretty much anything, but still...

And not to mention that IPB 2.0 is due to come out fairly soon, which is absolutely amazing from what i have seen on their forums...

I believe this is not place to flame obut which forum is better. Each provides what is needed: reading and posting messages. Andrew took one he found apropriate. If he choosed other one, it wil do the same, letting us read and post. Even the simplest one can do that.

I think the new forum is great. Nice of Andrew to get us something this fancy. Hell with the kind of abuse he sometimes takes here your all lucky he didn't pass out tin cans and string!

I miss those old threads. However, I miss some of the old members alot more.
RC, Blaze, Chrisd and others. I even miss Openbox as a moderator. Nah!
