Hope this stops sometime, I would like to start calling those D@MN insurance companies to see if I can afford to own a home anymore! Of course Ivan could make that question irrelavant.

At least that black dot is out in the gulf this time.

From what Ive heard, it just gathers steam out there...but it seems to putter out by the time it gets anywhere...

Just think on the bright side, if Ivan free's you need of insurance, its just another (and very good) excuse to make it bigger and better.

        Black dot moved.

A hurricane hitting in the middle of week that should brake up the monotony. Best I can do for looking on the brightside.

I will get paid days off if it hits during a regular work day. I know it sounds selfish but it is at least one bright spot...

            Here in Miami

Now that I have experience with hurricanes (1, Frances... ) and watching it all week; my take: The computer models do not seem to be able to predict past 72 hours at the outside and when the hurricances get near land weird things happen. I don't look at the five day forcasts. The three day has it just below Cuba's West end. Check back then. But, start getting ready NOW. They've evacuated the Keys and a shipper who just picked up a load of our stuff going North said the only things going into the Keys are generators and plywood. A big one hit there in 1935. Pressure dropped BELOW 900mb; it's the most powerful to have hit the US coast on record. There was a movie with Bogart, Lauren Bacall and EG Robinson. Probably too old for most of you. Who can name that movie. Hang in there you all.

Anyone notice we're missing one from the last hurricane? No I'm not mentioning his name! Hate to be accused of CARING again! Oh...ok...Where's Jonathan?

Key Largo, but it was set after WWII. Decent flick, rented it from the local library about 6 months ago.

Go to CNN and in the middle of the page on the right is a list of the worst US hurricanes of all time. I had a relative sleep thru the 1928 Florida one, he was hard of hearing and missed it, he lived down by Lake Okeechobee.

Yeah, were is Jonathan? He lives in the St. Augustine area right???

Black dot moved. Now I'm in the crosshairs! Again!

                  Thought he was in Daytona?

He's in Deltona which is reasonably nearby. I have relatives there and down to Ft. Lauderdale and they all report - via cell phone - the power is out in various places. Here's hoping he's around again soon.

I certainly feel for those without power, it is the worst!

I have relatives in Vero Beach and Port St. Lucie and I know most of them are still without power. FPL said by NEXT week they will have it back at the latest...DOH

I'm back-- just got power on like 3mins ago...

Yep yep, happy...didn't have a generator, dear god
how ever did I survive? should've heard these people
"OMG MY GENERATOR ONLY RUNS TEN FANS!!!!"

Anyways, besides that my life has changed
I viewed something very amazing, and I shan't forget it soon

BTW y'alls both wrong -- its *near* Daytona,
not Deltona, but my bro in Deltona just got his apartment
                        CONDEMNED after Frances...

FEMA had alrdy made him move out before, so I've
had to put up with him & his g/f..... *eye twitch*

On the other hand, the other brother who still lives @ home,
sharing a bedroom/florida room with me, might move out *go me, go me*

*Drools* - I've had the PUNISHER DVD sitting here since Tuesday...
Amen glory to the Power-company men, I'm watching it tonight!

Then cry since power is back on = light on street poll is on = AWEFUL
