    DNS Resolving Incorrectly

Near as I can tell, this is a "local" problem, but it affects both of my systems. When I log on from somewhere else (another computer at work, for instance), the problem does not exist.

I have several domains I host, but from my home system, when I enter many of the domain names they resolve to the same site. (i.e., "aaa.com", "bbb.com", and "ccc.com" all resolve to the "ccc.com" site).

All of these sites use my custom nameservers and IP address.

I tried looking at the Hosts file on each system, and they appear to be correct ... just one entry for localhost.

    Any ideas?

    WHat OS are you using

    try the ipconfig /flushdns command
I think that works for NT based systems (NT,2K,XP)

I'm XP Home at home, and XP Pro here at work.

Thanks for pointing out ipconfig ... I did a "ipconfig ?" and got the syntax; ipconfig /flushdns did not help, but I thought perhaps /registerdns after a flush might help. So far no luck, but I'll keep trying.

There ARE entries for the sites in question listed when I do /displaydns.

It was happening with Firefox as well. I didn't think to check until I had futzed around with IE for about 20 minutes.

I was able to solve it immediately at home using ipconfig /flushdns ... I suspect it will be solved when I log back on at work. They have a dns cache that will take some time to flush, but I did tell the IT guys about it.

Any idea what one might do with 98 & 98SE for the same problem? The site is well overdue to appear & can be viewed through the .net parked domain but not the main .com domain.
Frustrating as changes need to be made to mailing list submission etc... Clearly getting visits as seen through the stats.
            Thanks.

An addition - none of the mail is getting through. Maybe it's more than a local problem.

Submit a ticket if you think it's more than just a local problem

What is the domain, see if some of us can see it... even if you PM it to me i'll check it out.

Thanks for getting back to me all. From my computer at work I get into the new site.

At home I can enter through http://mysite but not http://www.mysite - when I add www I get taken to the old site - maybe the propogation hasn't gone through as it should?

I really didn't notice which it was at work.

Seemingly all sorted - the domain took a long time to propogate it appears.
                    Thanks.
