pointing a domain to a certain directory

How do I point a certain domain to a certain directory in my hosting account?

Here are the steps I took:
1) registered domain.net @ godaddy
2) entered my DNSXX.GZO.COM dns servers
3) went to CPanel and added the domain under "Manage addon domains"
4) under "Manage addon domains" i created the redirection to domain.com/folder

Butthis wont work... the domain.net won't even resolve. What am I doing wrong?

Did you wait patiently for 48-72 hours for domain propagation?

thats not the issue the domain's been registered a month ago

Don't you have to point it to a subdomain???

I'm pretty sure that's how it works.
