create subdomain without login to cpanel

is it possible to create subdomain without login to cpanel, by using some php script...?

for illustration, i want to create some community sites (www.domain.com). and every member will get their own profile page (username.domain.com) after they fill registration form...

You'd be required to have wildcard DNS active, which i'm not too sure dathorn does. I could be wrong however.

There are scripts that do this on hotscripts.com and other such places.

There was another question about create email accounts without logging into cPanel. I think the same technique would work here. I'll let you do the search.
