2 dathorn accounts, main site on "B" while rest of traffic on "A"?

going to be having 2 dathorn accounts (1 is my own, and 1 cpanel account from another member in a diff. server)

my hosting service is located on let's say "CPA". it contains a centralized-install of SQmail for my clients (ie webmail.CPA.com), and also a centralized-install of MT for my friends' blogs.

i'd like to have some kind of way for my friends and client to know whats going on if the server CPA is down; so i got an account on a diff. dathorn member's server, let's say "CPB".

i only want port:80 traffic going to it--which is just the main hosting site where i can update news and status of the server CPA if its either going through changes/updates/problems. is this possible to achieve using DNS Zone changes?

please let me know if you guys have something in mind, TIA.

If you want to have the same domain on two separate IP addresses, the cheapest and easiest way is to you an external DNS hosting service that allows dynamic updating. That way if one box is having a problem, you change your DNS on the fly and your domain will be directed to the new IP address.

I don't pay for DNS service, so I'm not able to give my opinion. I know there are others here that do pay for service.
