Problems seeing Dathorn sites from my ISP

    Hi all,

I can see my site at work and get email, but from home I have not been able to access mail or my site or some of the sites posted in web design forum. I am with Rogers, and other sites I go to work fine. I can also go to my site with an anonymizer link also. Any ideas?

    Thanks

Well, turns out my router was causing these issues. I don't know how my router all of the sudden starting blocking my dathorn sites.

I have a DLINK wireless router and it happens to me all the time...only dathorn sites.

I took me a while to figure it out...a major pain in the butt.

I have the exact same problem also, what did you do to resolve it? my router is a netgear rt314.

btw I'm on cpanel09, and it just happened to a friend of mine also, he's using a router and can't acces dathorn sites.

I think that the reason could be this:
cpanel09b is tentatively scheduled for an upgrade to our new systems on 9/3/04. I will reply to this thread as soon as possible if the date changes. There will be no changes required by the customers for this move to take place, everything will be taken care of on our end and no IP addresses will change. This is a basic upgrade

You should be able to access your site's home page, so this may not be the complete explanation. But, webmail, Cpanel and WHM all use "non-standard ports" and many firewalls (including the one where I work) will block any non-standard port.

You may be able to configure the router to allow access to the ports that Webmail uses, or you can search the forums for installing Squirrellmail yourself, so it doesn't use a non-standard port.

My daughter started having that problem with the d-link DI-524 I set up for her. It had been working fine most of the summer then it sporadicaly would not allow her to access her school Horde webmail, ebay login and a few other sites. I went to the d-link site and found a firmware upgrade that fixed it.

I upgraded my firmware a while back with no luck but I guess it is worth a try again.
