    Delete email in main account

    I dont use my "main" account at all, logged into webmail today and had 2750 messages, all junk. How can I go about emptying it, I cant just delete it as its the main account and it wont let me. Theres like 165 pages, I dont want to have to check each message and send it to the trash. Thanks.

    I'd log into cPanel and then just delete the entire account;
    then turn around and re-make one with the same email address.

    Only way I can see of this being done, but
    there may be another method.

      I think you will have to FTP in and delete the main "index" file... I think it's right in the "mail" directory. You will know when you find it since it will be quite large.

        Can't do that - Its the main account, its not deleteable.

          How to empty the folder

          Here's what I do to empty out all the junk email.

          I open my email account using Horde webmail access.

          I click on the Inbox to get to the first page of emails.

          Then I click on "Folders" in the menu items across the top of the page.

          I put a check mark in front of INBOX then from the pull-down "Choose Action" menu I pick "Empty Folder(s)".

          It asks me to verify I want to permanently delete the messages.

          INBOX is now cleaned out.

            Why don't you have the email forwarded to an address that you check regularly so it doesn't sit and pile up there?

            Assuming that it's mostly unrouted email just go to the Mail | Default Address appled in your CPanel and put a good address in there.

              It does not work that way. No matter what you set in cpanel account there are always some messages that end up in cpanel mail account, mostly failed spam. But, sometimes they are important, so all I could think of is to set mailer to get those messages too.

                Volume wise it would be significantly decreased though. The real question is do they have a good spam filter to then trudge through all the cr@p.
