webmail going slow

why does it take a really long time for webmail pages to load? i currently only have about 204 messages. every other page on the domain loads quickly, any ideas as to the problem? thanks

Might help if you told us which webmail? I was using Horde the other day with 300 mails in the indox with no trouble. If you think there's something wrong submit a TT.

yeah, each webmail loads differently. I was also using horde with around 500 messages no problem.

I've got 380+ emails in my squirrel mail, and it loads fine. Only thing different, is I'm not using the basic install that comes on the account. I installed squirrel mail myself (lots of nice addon features on it as well, including a superb address book addon, and nice spell checker (I often have to put words into google to get them spelled correctly)). But load times here are fine.

I'm baised towards squirrel mail though, we use it @ work (a small ISP just south of St. Louis, mo) and its great!


There is a tutorial on how to install it here on the forums, or I can dig up my "how to" that I used when I installed it, if you are interested. I was able to make my own subdomain for the install (email.myfamilyslastname.us) which makes it easier for others to read as well.
