    user@domain.com ftp account problem

Well, i have additional ftp account for accessing part of the site. I use user@domain.com username and ftp.domain.com address to access it ok.

But, I have requirement that special application access that ftp account. It cannot, since it cannot deal user@domain.com username properly. I tried to replace with user#domain.com and user$domain.com, but no luck. Actualy I found out that I cannot use later two even with proper FTP application.

Is there a solution? I cannot change application which accesses site by FTP. It must remain, but I have to solve username problem somehow.

Letting it use main ftp account for site is not an option.

If you cannot compromise on either of those two options that you mentioned (changing the program or using the default cPanel user), then there really isn't anything that can be done about it.

Another option might be to create that part of the website as a seperate account in WHM as a subdomain but that's about it.

      Have you tried user+domain.com ?

Other than that, as Andrew says

        + does not work too...

It seems Dathorn FTP does not accept any replacement for @ in username.

I think you'll find that's a cPanel restraint and not just limited to Dathorn.
If this is a custom piece of software, can't you get support coded into it?

I did contacted support, but I have to wait for next version. By custom software I mean it has specific function and I cannot find replacement.
